eLynx Monitors Arkoma Basin for Houston Exploration
TULSA, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 2004--eLynx Technologies, the leading provider of remote well monitoring for the natural gas industry, has begun monitoring the Arkoma Basin assets for The Houston Exploration Company. The project is the result of a major expansion project under the original Master Services Agreement signed in 2003. eLynx now monitors 850 producing wells, comprising 95% of Houston Exploration's onshore production.
"eLynx provides a complete operational information system that meets the needs of both the field and corporate offices," said Joanne Hresko, onshore operations manager for Houston Exploration. "eLynx provides an economic and efficient system to manage our properties. eLynx allows us to operate more wells with fewer people while reducing operational downtime. This tool has become invaluable to our field personnel in maximizing our production. This is core to our strategy of adding wells through drilling and acquisitions while keeping our operating expenses among the lowest in the industry."
Houston Exploration utilizes eLynx's MeterLynx product, which combines the remote capture of well data with the "eLynx Enterprise" software. eLynx's Enterprise is a highly reliable, web-based, securely hosted system that has been designed to simultaneously meet the needs of the field office and the corporate office. eLynx allows the field office to monitor flow rates, pressures, tank levels, and artificial lift. It also allows them to generate user-set threshold alarm call-outs. The corporate office functions of marketing, engineering, and accounting are enhanced through global access to real-time and daily production information. All users have access to the data via individualized screens, reports, and trend graphs. Additionally, eLynx offers system balancing and automated data export to corporate and production accounting systems.
"Houston Exploration, like many other producers, chooses to focus on operations while relying on eLynx to capture and provide supporting operational data," said Jeff Perrin, director of sales for eLynx Technologies. "eLynx provides a proven, plug and play solution that improves reliability and removes the excessive delays and unpredictable costs previously encountered when implementing and maintaining internal SCADA systems."
