eLynx Technologies Signs Master Services Agreement with The Houston Exploration Company
TULSA, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 2003--eLynx Technologies recently signed a Master Services Agreement with Texas-based The Houston Exploration Company (THX), allowing eLynx to provide SCADA outsourcing for the company. The contract includes project statements to provide end-to-end SCADA services for operations in South Texas, East Texas and the Arkoma Basin. Houston Exploration uses eLynx's MeterLynx product, which incorporates the remote capture of well operations data; a real-time, enterprise level, web-based data presentation; alarming; reporting package; and automated data connectivity into internal accounting systems.
MeterLynx allows producers to access their real-time well data on the Web. Each system, and at times each field, is custom configured for the client's specifications, allowing MeterLynx to monitor all of the varied aspects of their operations. Monitoring includes analysis and alarming for flow rates, pressures, tank levels, plunger lift, temperature readings, etc. This information can be updated several times daily and then exported to internal production accounting systems either daily or monthly.
"MeterLynx offers company-wide value, encompassing the needs of operations, engineering, marketing, accounting, and management," said Joanne Hresko, onshore operations manager for Houston Exploration. "eLynx captures and makes available the critical data our company needs and does it when, where, and how we need it. The eLynx product allows our employees to handle large amounts of well data and to make timely well informed decisions."
MeterLynx also incorporates a user accessible alarm callout system that notifies personnel via pager, mobile phone or e-mail when a well is down or underperforming. MeterLynx uses high bandwidth radio and satellite communications to transmit data from the well site to the eLynx Data Center for uploading to the Web site. The system uses 128-bit encryption and requires a password for access, which makes the data very secure.
"Houston Exploration's vision is very much aligned with the eLynx philosophy," said John Powers, vice president of eLynx Technologies. "Houston Exploration, like many other producers, chooses to focus on their core business and allow companies like eLynx to perform specialized functions to support those core areas of expertise. eLynx provides a proven, plug and play solution that removes the delays and excessive overhead associated with implementing internal SCADA systems. Additionally, eLynx reduces the time and eliminates the cost of developing and maintaining web applications."
