eLynx Signs Contract With Houston Exploration

TULSA, Okla., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- eLynx Technologies of Tulsa recently signed an agreement with Houston Exploration (NYSE: THX - News) for the remote monitoring of their 242 wells and 29 compressors in the Jim Hogg, Webb and Zapata counties of South Texas. New wells continue to be added each month.

"I have been pleased with the eLynx system," said Joanne Hresko, manager of onshore operations for Houston Exploration. "It has allowed us to re- deploy personnel in other capacities and to improve monitoring of production and downtime."

Houston Exploration uses eLynx's MeterLynx product and CompressorDOC solution for their monitoring. These products use the spread spectrum radio along with the fixed frequency network and the digital overhead channel of the cellular network, respectively, to provide real-time data on the Internet. This allows producers to view their data from wherever they can access the Internet. The system uses 128-bit encryption and a password is required for access.

MeterLynx is custom built for client's specifications; therefore it is able to monitor the varied registers within their meters including pressures, volumes, previous day's flow, battery, voltage, plate size, temperature readings, etc. CompressorDOC monitors the status of the compressors, run-time percentage calculations, downtime hours, etc. Both products have alarm callout systems that notify personnel via pager, cellular phone or e-mail when a well or compressor is down.

"We are very happy about our agreement with Houston Exploration," said John Powers, vice president of eLynx Technologies. "This is exactly why our products were designed. They help producers meet their operating goals more efficiently. It's a win-win situation."
