eLynx's MeterDOC Provides Data on Demand
TULSA, Okla. (September 9, 2002) -- eLynx Technologies, a Web-based field automation company for the oil and gas industry, recently released its MeterDOC. The MeterDOC provides real-time meter data on the Internet, which can be accessed by producers from anywhere in the world.
The MeterDOC reports on previous day's gas flow, accumulated monthly volume, spot flow pressures, temperatures, tank levels, etc. It also has alarm technology that will notify personnel via pager, e-mail or cell phone when there is a shutdown of any kind.
"I plan to put MeterDOC on every single one of our wells," said Jeremiah Decker, vice president of Warren Exploration. "Before, I would have to call around to see what my wells were flowing, which took a lot of time and I still couldn't get accurate numbers. Now I can instantly see my numbers, figure out my cash flow for the following month and my producers can do the same."
The communications technology in MeterDOC can be used anywhere, which eliminates the costly engineering associated with installing radio and cellular solutions. Also, the MeterDOC is compatible with all major brands of flow computers such as ABB TotalFlow, Flow Automation, Fisher, Eagle Research and Bristol Babcock. The device has a minimal power requirement, which keeps hardware costs low.
eLynx customizes its products for each client and uses a 128-bit encryption program, which is very secure and requires an authorized password every time the site is accessed.
"When I am sitting at my desk in Kentucky, I can instantly see how my wells are doing in Texas," Decker said. "You just can't beat that."
