eLynx Technologies Takes the Guesswork Out of Oil and Gas Compressor Monitoring

TULSA, Okla. (August 19, 2002) -- Monitoring oil and gas compressors just got easier. eLynx Technologies of Tulsa recently released the CompressorDOC, a device that changes the way oil and gas compressors can be monitored. The CompressorDOC is an Internet-based product that immediately alarms field personnel via pager, phone or e-mail when a compressor is not running.

"Pumpers no longer have to waste their time checking on compressors that are running just fine," said John Powers, vice president for eLynx Technologies. "The CompressorDOC takes all the guesswork out of it. This saves the producer considerable time and money."

The CompressorDOC uses digital overhead channel technology to provide real-time data on the Internet, which allows producers to view their data from wherever they can access the Internet. They know the status of their compressors, the history of alarm notifications, run-time percentage calculations, downtime hours, etc., in addition to alarm notification when a compressor is down.

The system is customized for each company and data is extremely safe from hackers and competition. eLynx uses a 128-bit encryption program, which requires an authorized password every time it is accessed.

"We have the best security available on this system," says Powers. "Our clients' information can not be tracked."

eLynx Technologies was formed in August 2000 by its parent company, American Central Gas Technologies. eLynx provides real-time data collection, production reporting, trending, monitoring and control via the Internet for the oil and gas industry. eLynx's clients include Bravo Natural Resources, The Houston Exploration Company, Hanna Oil & Gas, Zinke & Trumbo, Devon Energy, and Universal Compression.
